Bob Harper:

After a successful 25 year career with North Carolina National Bank and Allied Financial Services, a provider of data processing services to 120 community banks in the Carolinas and Virginia, Mr. Harper joined with Denise McNeil to incorporate a consulting firm to specialize in assisting community and regional banks with data processing management decisions to improve efficiency and costs. Mr. Harper has spoken to community banking organizations on the implementation of emerging technology and other subjects.  He has also worked with vendors to develop conversion methodology and training that would benefit the vendor’s client banks.

Harper McNeil, Inc. has assisted 100’s of community and regional banks from Maine to Florida, Texas to Wisconsin and Bermuda in the last 15 years.   Their success is shown in the number of clients who depend on them for on-going support and additional engagements.  They offer open format, informative meetings with bank management, technology steering committees and boards to review and evaluate their current and future technology needs at no obligation. 

Mr. Harper completed his undergraduate studies at Wingate College and the University of South Carolina.  He has continued his education by completing numerous banking, management, and technology courses.  In his spare time he enjoys boating with his wife and grandchildren from their home on Lake Wylie as well as traveling.  He is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church where he is has taught Sunday School for thirty plus years.


Denise McNeil:

Mrs. McNeil graduated from Appalachian State University with a BSBA in Accounting in 1988.  Immediately, she began her career as an internal auditor at a community bank spending valuable time in every area of the bank and remained there until 1995.  During time as an internal auditor, she worked with management to select and secure a new core along with conversion.  In 1995, Harper McNeil, Inc. was incorporated. 

Harper McNeil, Inc. has worked with all types of banks in the past.  The beauty of our company dynamics is that we understand banking in depth.  Therefore, we can work with each unique bank to help them promote their bank through technology.  The vendors that offer the technology appreciate this talent as well.  We often assist with assuring that there is complete understanding between the bank and the vendor.  Everyone in our company has spent their entire career in banking.

Mrs. McNeil along with her family is a member of First Baptist Church.  She spends the majority of her free time attending football and baseball games to cheer for her kids and their endeavors in school.  Mrs. McNeil also participates in promoting the Entrepreneur program at ASU.  
While at Harper McNeil, Inc., she has participated with the independent community banking groups holding seminars for bankers by speaking at conferences and vendor headquarters. 


Lisa Armbrister

Mrs. Armbrister joined Harper McNeil Inc. in January 2001.  With over 25 years of banking and systems experience, Lisa specializes in deposit and finance applications in a variety of technology packages.  Her broad project management skills and attention to detail make her a valuable member of the Harper McNeil team.

Before joining Harper McNeil, Lisa worked with banks in Virginia and Ohio in various positions from Teller and Deposit Operations to IT Support for Loan Operations and Finance.  The breadth and depth of Lisa’s experiences in banking and consulting have provided her with the skills and know-how to effectively guide clients through the accurate and timely conversion of their core processing systems for deposit and finance applications.  In addition to her work with core conversions, Lisa also assists community banks in improving their efficiency and effectiveness with thorough analyses of their Deposit Operations and General Ledger functions.           

Mrs. Armbrister completed her undergraduate studies at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina with a BSBA in Business Management with a Computer Science concentration.  She resides in Martinsville, Virginia with her husband and two sons where she is a member of First United Methodist Church.  Lisa has volunteered in numerous capacities with her church over the past twenty-five years as well as with the Parent Teacher Organizations of her children’s schools over the past eleven years.  She enjoys reading, traveling, and following the activities of her sons.


Myrna Ferguson

Mrs. Ferguson joined Harper McNeil Consulting in January, 2001, bringing over 30 years of banking and systems experience to our company. Mrs. Ferguson specializes in loan applications in a variety of technology packages.

Before working as a consultant, Mrs. Ferguson worked as an officer with MainStreet Financial Corporation, a multi-state, regional banking concern based in Martinsville, Virginia. Myrna planned, scheduled and coordinated loan application conversions for the many new acquisitions to the Main Street company during the 1990s prior to it’s acquisition by Branch Banking & Trust Company. During this time, she also managed the Loan Servicing (Operations) area for the company with responsibility for new loan input, investor accounting, escrow administration, quality control, customer service and served as systems administrator for the bank’s loan platform system. Myrna worked as an independent consultant just prior to joining Harper McNeil and focused on the development of training materials and writing procedures for banks in Virginia and North Carolina.

Mrs. Ferguson brings a great deal of management experience in loan administration and operations.  Since joining the company Myrna has worked with banks from Maine to Florida and as far west as Texas to ensure the accurate conversion of core system data. In addition to her work with core conversions, she has completed reviews of lending operations for banks and savings banks as well as managed the search and conversion process for new bank lending platforms.

Mrs. Ferguson and her husband enjoy cruising in their restored 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe and spending time with their family.  The Fergusons are members of Jones Chapel Church of the Brethren where she has chaired various commissions, served as church board chair, church treasurer and enjoys singing in the church choir.  Mrs. Ferguson has served on the board of the Virlina District COB and as secretary of the Commission of Stewards for the district.

Myrna attended Patrick Henry Community College and is a graduate of The School of Mortgage Banking at the University of Illinois.  Myrna’s project management abilities combined with detail oriented knowledge meshes well with the overall goals of Harper McNeil Consulting, Inc. and she is a great asset to our company.


Rodney W. Overby

Mr. Overby brings a total of 28 years working with community banks and large banks to Harper McNeil, Inc. A graduate of Patrick Henry Community College, Overby holds an Associate Degree in Information Systems and has also completed the bank management program at the University of Virginia and various other technical programs.

Mr. Overby began his banking career at First National Bank of Stuart in Stuart Virginia. Subsequently, Mr. Overby has worked at Main Street BankGroup and Wachovia Corporation. In 2001, Mr. Overby joined South Carolina Bank and Trust as Vice President and Director of Data Processing. In 2007, Mr. Overby was promoted to Executive Vice
President, Chief Information Officer with responsibility for all
Operations and Technology. He has served on various boards throughout his banking career, McDonnell Douglas, STAR First Data, VACHA , FiServ and taught many classes on various operations and technology subjects.

An active member of the community, Mr. Overby is a member, trustee, and secretary of Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church. He and his wife, Donna Biggs Overby have one daughter, Tamara, who is currently pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry. In his spare time, he enjoys working on his farm and riding 4-wheelers in the mountains of Virginia.

 

Bennett Quillen

Bennett Quillen joined Harper McNeil, Inc. in January 2005 with over 30 years of direct, “hands on” experience.  Bennett has previously been a management consultant from 1998 to present providing consulting services to community, regional and money center banks along with credit unions both domestically and overseas.

Before 1998, Bennett has held positions ranging from Executive Vice President – Operations to Chief Information Officer in multi bank holding companies.  He directed an average staff size of 200 in information systems, back office operations, conversions, and administration.
Most recently, Bennett managed a project to convert a bank’s credit card and ATM/POS processing to real-time.  The project involved the design and installation of updated communications and applications software, evaluating debit/credit card processing vendors’ features and pricing, and negotiating contracts. It was completed within seven months and reduced monthly costs by over $30,000.
Other recent projects for community and regional banks have focused on compliance in operations, information technology and core applications.  These projects resulted in identifying potential problems and implementing control and productivity improvements.

Bennett has a master of business administration, University of Southern California, Los Angeles with majors in industrial management and finance.  His bachelor of science is from The Principia College, Elsah, Illinois with majors in chemistry and mathematics.

Other Interests/Hobbies include sailing, PG Wodehouse and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  Bennett’s analytical skills and high level technology exposure adds depth to the Harper McNeil, Inc. roster.
